Who we are
NY Registered Agent Services is the trading name of Entity Protect Registered Agent Services LLC. We do one thing in New York State, at one price, and we do not sell anything else alongside it.

Why the site tells you the service is optional
Because it is, and you would find out eventually.
New York is unusual. The Secretary of State already acts as every LLC and corporation's agent for service of process, at no cost. Most registered agent companies operating here would rather that sentence stayed buried.
We put it on the homepage. A customer who understands the choice renews. One who was sold a legal requirement that does not exist leaves angry the first time they read the statute.
The same logic runs through the publication pages. We are in Manhattan, so we cannot honestly claim our address cuts your publication bill, and we say so rather than blurring the point.

Some registered agent companies run a dozen addresses and rotate clients between them. We keep one, which means the address on your filing is the address where somebody actually signs for your mail.

What we do and what we do not
We act as registered agent for New York LLCs and corporations. We accept service of process, scan it the same business day, and flag your compliance deadlines. That is the product.
We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice. We do not form companies, publish legal notices, or run a mail forwarding service. When a job needs one of those, we say so and point you at it.
Reviews and testimonials will appear here once there are real ones to publish. We are not going to write placeholders that look like customers.
