Privacy is most of what people buy from a registered agent, so it would be strange to be careless with it. This page says what we collect and what we do with it.
Collection
What we collect
What you give us
Your name, email address, phone number if you supply one, your company name and DOS ID, and the county of office on your filing. Payment is handled by our payment processor, and we do not store card numbers.
What we receive on your behalf
Documents served on us as your registered agent, including court papers and state correspondence. We scan these and transmit them to you.
What the site collects
Standard server logs and basic analytics. No advertising trackers.
Use and sharing
What we do with it
Use
To run the service. Filing your appointment, transmitting documents, sending deadline reminders, billing, and answering your messages.
Who we share it with
With the New York Department of State, where a filing requires it. With our payment processor and email provider, as processors acting on our instructions. Where the law or a court order compels it.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information, and we do not rent your details to formation companies, marketers, or lead brokers.
Worth being clear about
What becomes public
Our address goes on the public state record as your registered agent. Your company name and your own filed address remain public information held by the Department of State.
A registered agent keeps your home address off the agent field. It does not make your company private. New York business filings are public records and always will be.
Anything you filed before appointing us stays in the state's historical record. Appointing an agent changes what appears going forward.
Control
Retention and your rights
How long we keep things
Account records stay with us for as long as you are a client, and for a period afterwards for legal and tax purposes.
Documents served on us are handled on a 60 day clock. We keep the physical document for 60 days and then destroy it. We keep the digital scan for 60 days and then delete it.
Sixty days is short on purpose, and it means the copy we send you is the copy you keep. Save anything served on you when it arrives. After 60 days we will not have it.
Your rights
Ask us what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to the address on the contact page.
Security
Documents are transmitted and stored through access-controlled systems. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something goes wrong that affects you.
